Important information about Coronavirus

Important information about Coronavirus for students and employees.

On the basis of the decision of the Government of the Czech Republic this order of the Rector is issued with effect from 15 February 2021.

According to this Measure, the operation of universities is limited in the following way:

  1. prohibiting the personal presence of students at classes when studying at a university. Students can take an exam if a maximum of 10 people are present at one time (including the examiner). The prohibition regarding the personal presence also applies to participants in lifelong learning courses;
    1. participation in university entrance examinations with the participation of a maximum
      of 10 people;
    2. participation in individual consultations (only one student and one academic staff
      member);
  2. prohibiting sports activities as part of education unless sports activities are an essential part of the degree programme;
  3. prohibiting the provision of accommodation in accommodation facilities of universities to university students who have a different residence in the Czech Republic.

Respiratory protection

The Measure prohibits the movement and stay of persons without respiratory protective equipment (nose, mouth), referred to in Article I (1 and 2), of the Measure with effect from 25 February 2021 00:00; exceptions to this prohibition have been laid down, as set out in Article I (3) of the Measure.

In all indoor spaces and in all other publicly accessible places in the VSB-TUO premises, where at least two persons less than 2 meters apart are present at the same place and at the same time (if they are not members of one household) , the obligation is stipulated to move and stay in such places only with a properly fitted respirator meeting the requirements set by the Measure (the Measure states FFP2 or KN 95 as an example) or a medical face mask or similar device meeting at least all technical conditions and requirements (for the product) of ČSN (Czech National Standard) EN 14683 + AC, (see Article I (1) of the Measure).

In the period from 25 February 2021 00:00 to 28 February 2021 23:59, it is possible to use another respiratory protective device in the above places instead of this respiratory protection, which prevents the spread of droplets, i.e., e.g. cloth face masks, (see Article I (4) of the Measure).

In the interior of the VSB-TUO premises serving as a “shop” and a “service establishment”, as well as “in motor vehicles for the purpose of a business trip”, stricter requirements for respiratory protection are set. The airways must be protected with a properly fitted respirator meeting the requirements set out in the Measure (e.g. FFP2 or KN 95) or with two medical face masks layered over each other, or similar devices meeting at least all technical conditions and requirements (for the product) of ČSN EN 14683+AC, ( see Article I (2) of the Measure).

Further details regarding the situation at our university can be found in this Rector's order of 24.2.2021.
